Job Description
Job Overview
dbt Labs is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer II to design, implement, and manage their cloud network infrastructure. This role offers an opportunity to establish the practice of network engineering within the Infrastructure team as they support and expand the dbt Cloud offering in AWS and Azure, while focusing on the development of resilient network architectures that prioritize availability, scalability, and security.
Technical Requirements
Required Skills
- • OSI model expertise
- • fundamental networking protocols (TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, TLS)
- • VPNs
- • IPv4 and IPv6
- • proxy and load balancer experience
- • scripting and automation
Preferred Skills
- • multiple public clouds experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- • Terraform
- • Kubernetes networking
- • defining SLA and metric collection
Experience Level
At least 8 years of experience in network engineering
Responsibilities
- • Operate and troubleshoot the network infrastructure
- • Design and improve network architecture
- • Review network needs of development teams
- • Configure and manage Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and network security services
- • Automate operational tasks to enhance performance and reliability
- • Develop solutions for securely connecting Data Warehouses to dbt Cloud
- • Improve documentation for network configurations and processes
